Virginia has worked with neurosurgical patients for over 30 years.  During that period,  she has held various positions in nursing at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI), Phoenix, Arizona, including ICU head nurse, CNS, and the first Nurse Practitioner to be hired within the BNI.  She is a Past President of the American Association of Neuroscience, Nurses and a founding member of the Neuroscience Nursing Foundation.
